General Questions About Tanzania
Do you have any general questions or concerns about Tanzania, aside from Travel Immunizations and Dress Attire?
I came across a check list of things to take to Tanzania and I noticed permethrin and bednet on the list. I'm wondering if I will actually need either. Does anyone know what permethrin is?
Great question Marinda! Permethrin is a insect repellent. You will need to bring your own bug repellent with deet in it for your body. You will NOT need to bring bed nets as I have requested them at all of the places we will be staying. In tanzania you can purchase bug spray to spray your net with at night before you sleep. Hope this helps!!
Thanks for you question Lela! Yes, you will each need a travel visa for Tanzania. As soon as I receive the itinerary from the travel agent for our flight, I will email you all the travel details so you can get your travel visa per the instructions I sent out a few months ago with your admission letter to the program. You will need to send the embassy your passport, travel details, passport pictures, and application. I'll follow up with you all soon about this. Please encourage your peers to join this blog as they will miss important information about our trip if they have not joined. Thanks!!
...also several of you have asked about registering for the Maymester class and have indicated that the course is not yet listed on GOSOLAR. I have an inquiry into my department to find out why the course is not listed. As soon as I have clarity about the course listing I will post a comment here on this blog
So is anyone still having difficulties registering for the course? A message saying "registration add errors" keeps popping up when I try to register :(
The reason you are having trouble registering for this course is because this is the first year that this maymester course is being offered and it still set up for the regular Cross Cultural Psychology class which has a pre-requisite, hence the block. I am working with my department to remove this block and alter the course description so it is more reflective of this Maymester course. Please bare with me until I get all the kinks worked out. I will let you know when this issue is resolved so you can register.
Once again, I am having difficulties registering for the course. This time, a message pops up saying that I need a prerequisite for the course. What shall I do?
Schuyler do you have any blocks on your account? Did you submit your emergency contact form to the registrars office before registering? Do you have any outstanding fines? You should be able to register now without a problem. Please email me if you are still having trouble. Is anyone else still having trouble registering or paying your final $1000 deposit???

ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if we will need a visa for our travels and if so, how we go about starting that process?

ReplyDeleteI saw a course online the dates were wrong but the description matches our Tanzania trip. It still won't allow registration though.

ReplyDeleteI registered and it worked out this time but I didn't notice that extra $1000 payment due until the next time I logged into Go Solar.
